Louisiana State House 2013 Session – HB 133-142

I am going to be giving a quick 2-3 (sometimes more for more interesting bills) sentence summary of each of the Louisiana State House and Senate 2013 Bills. I will be doing about 10 an entry and a few entries a day until I get caught up. Once I am caught up, I will cover new bills as they are filed. This entry covers House Bills 133-142.

House Bill 133 (HB133)-  (Lorusso)  Sets aside funds for a legal judgement in a DOTD case.

House Bill 134 (HB134)- (Lorusso)  Sets aside funds for a legal judgement in a DOTD case.

House Bill 135 (HB135)- (Burford) Expands the current income tax credit for conversion of vehicles to alternative fuels to include the lessor of leased vehicles as well (when the lessor pays for the conversion).

House Bill 136 (HB136)- (Simon)  Sets aside funds for a legal judgement in a DOTD case.

House Bill 137 (HB137)- (Edwards)  Sets aside funds for a legal judgement in a DOTD case.

House Bill 138 (HB138)- (Ritchie) Sets aside funds for a legal judgement in a DOTD case.

House Bill 139 (HB139)- (Leopold) Creates a state sales and use tax exemption for purchases of construction materials by the Committee for Plaquemines Recovery and allows local taxing authorities to offer the same exemption.

House Bill 140 (HB140)- (Gisclair) changes the board of the Lafourche Parish Tourist Commission from seven to nine members.

House Bill 141 (HB141)- (Badon) Makes it unlawful for a federal firearms license holder to sell a firearm to someone without verification that they have completed a firearms safety or training course. Also makes it unlawful to forge verification of such completion. The seller will not be liable by acts by the purchaser unless they knew at the time that it was unlawful for the person to purchase a firearm.

House Bill 142 (HB 142)-  (Dove) Adds an exemption to the requirement that crab traps have two escape rings for traps which are made of wire mesh 2 5/16 inch square or larger.
